I'm using a standard CoCo disk controller but the previous owner did install ADOS on it. On my CoCo3 I get the IO error message as well except that it does not resolve with a reset.
This second issue is strange to me in that if I try to access HxC files without reseting the CoCo2 I get "IO error" - I don't understand why a reset takes care of this. I previously had some trouble getting it going ona CoCo 2 until I figured out I was using tghe cassette load command instead of disk and I found taht I had to reset the computer before accessing the HxC.
